Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has made it clear that the Legislature-Parliament would not be dissolved. Speaking at the 54th anniversary function of Nepal Engineers’ Association here Monday, he said there was no point demanding his resignation when a no-confidence motion has been registered at the parliament. Prime Minister Oli also said that he would move ahead as per the constitution. Referring to the agreement reached in the past which stated that NC would lead the government until the constitution was promulgated and then the UML until elections were held, PM Oli, who is also the UML Chair, accused the NC of not following the agreement after the constitution was promulgated. “There is no provision of removing a government in the constitution,” he said. Prime Minister Oli also said that power sharing agreement had already been reached among the ruling parties for until the forthcoming elections. He said that the Maoist Centre was instigated by external forces. Expressing concern over the act of the Speaker to remove the financial bill related to the budget from the agenda of the parliament and postponing the meeting, the Prime Minister said the situation has not worsened as he has been able to exercise restraint. Speaking at the programme, the Association Chair Dhurva Raj Thapa lauded the role played by engineers following the earthquake in the country and expressed concern over the failure of the government to give priority to the engineering profession. -
